Eternal Embrace

The fog casts eerie shadows
All along the glassy-looking river
My body cold with chills
Begins to shake and shiver

I see a mystical form
Glide from the empty boat
Drifts across the mossy grass
This apparition seems to float

I called out to this "person"
Who suddenly turned around
Then chills went down my spine
And my jaw hit the ground

The fog had to be playing
Tricks in my mind
For there stood the eerie form
Of a man been dead some time

I'm sure my face looked empty
I know my blood ran cold
I had to shake this feeling
Stop the fear from taking hold

Then this mystical man
Glided over to me
Across the river, up the bank
This sight I couldn't believe

His eyes were sort of glassy
His complexion, ashen grey
Pleaded me to hear him out
Of what he had to say

"I've been floating here a long time
Can't seem to leave this place
Do you think that you could help me
Find God's eternal embrace?"

Author notes

I started writing this to be a little shorter, and words and thoughts just kinda kept coming at me.  I think I got all the words from the bank in there twice.

And I know someone is going to look at it and say you saw all that in the picture, so to answer ahead of time, yes..but I am strange.  lol

Wow. I find one word for this poem: Interesting. I might add intriguing somewhere in there as well. What's interesting is that you were able to visualize and conclude a meaning from the picture to make this artwork, your poem. It's interesting, and amazing all at once. Great work, you did well. Good luck.
