Inspiration's Best

While walking along the road to Love’s Quest
A question was asked, “What inspires you best?”
Is it life’s problems or is it beauty?
Then I sighted a lonely bumble bee. 

I walked and I looked for inspiration,
What is the one thing that inspires me best?
What arouses my imagination?
As I pondered this, I saw a bird’s nest.

And then I looked down and saw a flower
Basking in sunlight, receiving power.
One single tear fell and rolled down my cheek
A lonely bird sang as if it would speak.

The town of Love’s Quest; my destination
But now I needed just a little rest.
A majestic oak caught my attention,
Sitting, I pondered inspiration’s best.

What occurred to me? Just a simple thought
In small things of life my attention’s caught.
It’s the simple things that inspires me best
I realized as I arrived at Love’s Quest.

    Oh, how refreshing, simple, wonderful... you captured my attention and got me to pause and realise how distracted from simple life I've recently been. I'd like to keep a copy of this poem handy, to remind me. I like it very much, thanks for sharing it!

    This was wonderful! The rhymes were so natural and smooth, really emphasized the overall theme and whatnot of the piece as a whole. I liked how it was honest, and clever, yeah! I'm afraid im going to have to applaud this one too

    It's it amazing,,,all we can see when we actually open our eyes and look around? Erm..i thought it was kinda like symbolic to our walk with Christ ofcourse, being human, i could definitly be wrong, but hey thats the magic of poetry, you can take away the part it that takes part of you

    Beautiful poem!!!! I havent read any of the other entries, but i do believe this deserves high ranking It just stood out, it was unique, it was...~inspiring
