Antique Bench Swing

Missing image

Today Snow is seated on a porch swing

Slowly swaying breeze

Eases in Spring/Summer/Autumn memories;

someone's floating laughter ringing in my head.

Shoulder leaning into a heart,

Gentle lips touching their slight hands of light Resting upon scented cheeks.

Feet not dangling anymore,

yet comfort sings in soaring spirits.

Rising smiles

Eyes slowly turning inward

Caressed by

Soothing lids

Closing in upon this bliss.

They grew old together,

but now their spirits grace this space.

Author notes

I read a poem by SirPort that was about his porch swing (a Tanka) allpoetry.com/Poem/1772293.
It inspired me to write my poem.

As I read this, a lightness lifted my own spirit. Such a gentle write speaking of bonding for eternity. Beautiful, delicate and telling of a love so true not even time to stamp it out. Great to see you again. Those dark times can be rough. Coming out of one too and not soon enough. Lol! This Tanka is bliss. Just lovely.--Keep the faith!--Kelly

      Thanks Kelly!

But I am lacking knowledge on what a Tanka is, so Dictionary Boy is coming over to help me! LOL!

A beautiful piece you have written here. It has a very gentle flow to it throughout. It appears a delicate account of a memory, but as I read it a second time I detected also a slight feel of almost loss to it.....maybe that is just me, but I could almost taste bittersweet feeling in this. I love pieces that can appear to be two things, and make you feel two emotions, so I liked it even more for this.
