Two had Gone

He opens his eyes at the early dawn
And whispers a prayer to the bright blue sky
Wishing for a lost love long gone.

He hadn't known that his girl was to die,
he thought in silence as he looked above,
so he regrets as in bed he does lie.

He should have been there when push came to shove,
but now she was lost and he took his life,
'Cause his girl had gone in the name of love.

It was done with one swift stroke of a knife.
He hoped he would be with his girl again,
And end his eternal heartache and strife.
