One Life One Universe

*To have compassion for all things in nature,
leads to possession of ethics in equal measure.
Even Einstein related we are of one universe,
many great minds speak of compassion in verse.

The Green Tara Mother of compassion knew too well,
we share one energy, one universe combined dwell.
Compassion given cost not your soul in fact,
but gives treasured ethical gifts in return back.

We are all one good, bad or indifferent in life,
what befalls another reflects on us in mirrored time.
What ever religion, creed and or belief you declare,
it's only a matter of splitting a variety of a hair.

No one need suffer without our collective compassion,
if we could feel their pain it would go out of fashion.
Do unto others as you'd have done unto you,
remember this always it reflects back on you too.

Oh Suseann, this is so beautiful. You always write such deep and wonderful poems. I love the presentation too. You captured in this poem not only the essence of Tara as she embodies compassion, but also of all religions and how they are tied together through this common bond, including a little sciene too. It is really well put together. In particular this stanza stood out:

"What ever religion, creed and or belief you declare,
it's only a matter of splitting a variety of a hair.

No one need suffer without our collective compassion,
if we could feel their pain it would go out of fashion."

Thank you again for sharing your poetry with me. I am so grateful.

Now here you are speaking my language! Such simple truths, and yet so seemingly hard to understand by the masses. Nicely worded, and this seems like the perfect contest for it!

    Awesome!

Wow! This is beautiful and full of compassion. I like how you blended what the man from the world of science thought with that what religion also preaches. L4 is such a true line and so very well placed in the poem. I like the lesson imparted through this poem...one of compassion; to have as much compassion for the world as you have for yourself. The only one human being who I have seen all my life follow this principle is my dearest Dad...so I can echo my views on this and would like to say that indeed what you have penned here is very beautiful, can be hard at times, but in the end, when you go to bed, it feels great and fulfilling to have been compassionate all throughout the day. Collective compassion then is such a powerful good energy and must grow. On this wish and prayer, I wish you goodluck in all you do. It was my pleasure to have read such a sweet and spiritual poem today.

All the best in the contest,
    Charishma Ramchandani
