A Heartfelt Goodbye (Part 2 of 3)

I remember the night I learned you were gone,
I lay ed there sprawled upon the lawn.
The calming sound of your laughter lost,
as I thought back on our beautiful past.

You were one of the few joys in my life,
amidst the loathsome sorrow and strife.
That night, a razor looked like my best friend,
I bet it always will until the end.

When you left I wanted so much to die,
but I hid all my pain inside a single sigh.
I loved you so much and it hurt me so,
to have to be there and watch you go.

I longed for the ache to go away,
but it seemed intent to make me pay.
For what I fear I'll never know,
I just want so much to see you though.

*Part 2 of this series is dedicated to one of my dearest friends who went through so much pain and torture till the end, may she finally find the peace she deserves...*
