Never-ending light

I live in the dark
and no one sees me.
No one thinks about me,
What purpose I serve in life.
It's like they eat me,
Not caring what pain they cause me.
The only light I have,
The only bit of happiness,
Is my best friend.
Darkness.
It engulfs me.
It devours me.
Darkness.
My never ending light.
