Al Sharpton
You holler "racism"
every time a black person gets in trouble for acting like an idiot.
You holler "racism"
every time a white person shows pride in his heritage
you holler "racism"
every time a black crack-head dies of an overdose
You holler "racism"
every time a black drug dealer gets caught selling crack
You holler "racism"
every time a white person gets a minimum-wage job
You holler "racism"
every time there are not enough tax dollars to support all the welfare cases, while at the same time...
you holler "racism"
whenever a white person gets on welfare
you holler "racism"
whenever a black man is told to get a job
you holler "Uncle Tom"
at any black man who actually does get a job
You holler "racism"
any time someone has the audacity
to point out the fact
that most of the problems
in the black community today
such as drugs, violent crime, and vandalism
are being caused by blacks themselves
and not by anyone else.
You holler "racism"
any time you don't get whatever you want, handed to you on a gold platter
You holler "racism"
whenever a natural disaster happens in a city where blacks live
as though white people now have the power to cause hurricanes
You holler "racism" so damn much
you are like the boy who cried wolf
Well, here is one white man who is tired of hearing it
I worked for what I have. Nobody gave it to me because of my skin color.
My ancestors were slaves, too. Ever hear of the Roman Empire? they made slaves out of white Europeans, but you don't hear us whining about it, and calling for "Reparations". Why? Because we have more dignity than that.
And if having some pride in my race makes me a "racist" then give me my pointy white hood.
So Al Sharpton, why don't you shut up, get a real job, and stop pointing fingers at Whitey, You pathetic liberal RACIST!

tears, don't let them bully you with the "R-word" they love to throw that word around because they know we don't like it, but it's just a word. stand by your principles, and be glad you have them because most of them don'thave any, and they're just trying to guilt you into something they don't deserve.

Grannyeri, Al Sharpton is a black political leader who loves to shout "racism" at the drop of a hat. one of his latest rants actually blames Hurricane Katrina on "white people" who, Sharpton says, caused the hurricane to flood out blacks in New Orleans... Like white people now have the power to cause hurricanes! and if you think thats ridiculous, he wants white people to pay reparations, so they can rebuild new Orleans into an all-black city. i think what bothers me the most is that people actually listen to this crackpot.
-
OK, i was kidding about the hood business, but I think you get my point. I'm not afraid of the "R-word"..it's just a word, one that has been way over-used by people who don't have any idea what it means, but who try to turn it into a free meal ticket. I think it's time white people grew a pair, and started standing up for themselves by saying "NO" to all the Al Sharptons in the world who are just after a free ride.
-
it's time people started speaking up. that's the problem with white people these days. We are so scared of being called "racists", that we will bend over backward to kiss ass just so we don't have to deal with the namecalling, and thats BULLSHIT. we don't have to give the shirts off our backs to every candyass who cries "racism", and we dont have to apologise for the slave trade, either. 1.6 million white americans died to free the blacks from slavery, we paid for their freedom with our blood, so we dont owe them shit.

I don't like Al Sharpton either, mainly because someone told me about something about his past. I dunno if it was true or not, but it was gross...nonetheless!
I agree that some people today really jump to conclusions and blame everything on racism...I've heard that Al Sharpton is like that, but I don't really pay attention to him or anything. But I do know people like that, I used to go to school with them, my mom works with them, everything. It's really in everyone's life, and that's a shame. I think some people see racism everywhere because they themselves are racist.
Either way, I really admire that you have the guts to write something like this -- racism is an extremely touchy subject. I think I can safely say that I would be way too scared to write something as potentially controversial as this.

Deep
I'm not black but at my school there has been many thoughts that I have been known to be racist and it is really hard to convince them that I'm not...I was very intimidated to actually comment on this but you did an excellent job...

Honest and definitely from the heart.
Wow! I am speechelss and almost afraid to comment...almost..I appreciate every last word of what you said in your work and follow up comments to Lucid4now. I commend you for having the balls to day what is on your mind and not mincing one word while expressing it. Hats off to ya for that one. Love it. -
I LIKE IT! Finally someone write what im sure alot of other people are thinking. This claiming everything is racism just because your life isnt handed to you is getting old quick. You should your ideas and proved your point. I applaud you. I may not know who this guy is but I myself here this stuff over and over and am getting sick of it. Day to day I have to listen to it. Like a 24 hours fun fair for everyone.

interesting.
I liked it I suppose.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Sharpton is a racist. It DOES seem like every time something bad happens to black people (or SUPPOSEDLY happens to black people - [remember Tawana Brawley?]) he's always the first to blame it on racism. Sometimes I think he may be right (New Orleans), but for the most part I think he's just an extremist who loves the spotlight and being popular. There's a lot of popularity to be made if you scream racism, not a lot for screaming responsibility. I didn't like what you said about wearing a hood. That only makes him right, and the Klan - and its sympathizers - wrong, so I hope you don't turn down that road. But the white race has a lot to be proud of, and all the Sharptons of the world and all of their misdirected hatred can't change that.

I'm going to reply anyway
I also served in the armed forces during the cold war, and since you had the audacity to comment on my poem, have the courage to hear my side.
I'm not a republican, first off. I think Bush sucks.
and I'm as against censorship as you are.
I am sick and tired of white people getting blamed for everything and being expected to pay for everything.
if other races want equality, they should do their fair share of the work. A lot of them do, and i treat them as equals because they are equals.
but so often i hear Sharpton and his liberal communists chant "Racism" whenever some black person isn't given preferential treatment beyond what anyone else has, and i'm sick of it. I didn't fight for my country so some slacker can have a free ride, and claim it's his birthright because of his race.
so if that makes me a conservative, then so be it. I'd rather be that than some crybaby liberal slackovist. -
You are a King
Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!! If there's one thing that makes me upset, it's racist blacks. I can't even describe how I'm feeling towards this poem. I'm all smiles, here!

The only thing I can say is I am so sorry you have 3 followers. I fought for my country in the 1st Gulf War and I believe you have the right to say what you want, thanks to the men and women of the Armes Forces, black and white and hispanic and native American.... If it were up to you and the rest of your conservatives only the right would be heard. Don't bother to reply to me. I wont be visiting again.

I guess I live in a different world - Canada - just who is Al Sharpton and why is he in your poem? What did he say to make you rant this way? Looks like you have a few followers who agree with you so far. Enjoyed reading the comments too.

I am the anti-liberal!!! And I loved this poem!!! It was so true and every word was perfect. Al Sharpton IS a pathetic liberal racist!!!!
I am glad that people have the guts to speak out because if that doesn't happen then people like him will continue to go on his way without any opposition.
In my opinion, Al Sharpton is the racist one. Not us.
Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!

I LOVE IT! It is so true! And what pisses me off too, is that people might look at this writting and say it is racist. But it is not. I am far from racist and I agree with everything you said. And I would say it about anyone who fits the shoe, not only certain African-Americans. People need to stop using their past heritage as a weapon, and need to start letting us all be equal. But that can not COMPLETELY happen until people let it! And stop calling us 'crackers' if you're doing stupid shit and you just so happen to be black. I'd say it if you were white! Or green! Thank you so much for writting this!
