I have no new years resolutions,
So many problems, but no solutions,
So much help, but never an institution,
All the problems in my head like pollution,
Put there by someone else, expected to carry,
All the weight on me, but never weary,
That once im gone its forever,
This is too much, more than I can endeavor,
Always stressing and always worried,
Being shoved or being hurried,
So there is one thing I can do for New Years,
Stand up, brush off and wipe away my tears,
Carry the problems and carry the fears,
Rely on myself and not the beer,
Look at the people and say "Thats why im here"
Maybe, just maybe, I can last one more year...

This is a very honest painful piece. I must say I agree with your sentiment to just hang on a little bit longer. Who knows if the next minute will finally bring a break from the depression? Thank you for entering our contest, and good luck!
-
I agree with the others. This is a deep and moving piece to read. It’s always a great thing to have entries that have so much honesty within the lines. It shows strength and vulnerability at the same time. Nicely done.

This is not a bad poem at all...some sadness to start the New Year with but it was nice to see a bit of hope at the end..you can last through another year...if for nothing else (right now) then the people that care about you. Keep writing and thank you for following the rules. Best of luck to you.
welcome to AP

I added someone I commented. Please make this eligible, even though it probably isnt the best of poems

Very well written piece here. Please remember to comment on another piece in the contest and put that information in your author's comments, it would be sad to have to disqualify this piece because you haven't fully followed the rules.

Interesting to hear. I think that you are not the only one who does not make new year's resolutions or jests. Well done. All the best. TOny.

This poem is very deep. You show all the stresses you have on you and how you want them to change, and i think that you do this very well. The poem flows very well and is very emotional.
Please read and comment on another entry into the contest and state this in your author comments in order to comply with the contest rules and be considered for judging.

Yes, you can last through many more years. Taking ahold of who we are is a powerful tool. I really enjoyed your poem. Happy New Year.

This must be a hard place to abide in. I do like that you said that it's time to get up and shake the dust-that indicates you know it can get better. I think that is a wise decision.
Best wishes in the contest and welcome to the site.

You've brought an honest, in-depth awareness of what isn't first, but what should come from realising many things:
1- the attitude
2- the reflection of which didn't work
3- the hopefulness of being alive and know that means
we're in it for the going on.
4- Assumingly, you are also suggesting that there is Someone who is above us who can take our part. So true. So true.
In form, language and content-Very good overall.
There is some punctuation which needs to be applied, but other than that, some tweaking would make this a very polished piece.
Please don't forget to post in your Author's Question/Comment area, the author's name and title of another's entry you've read and commented on. It is required for eligibility.*
Thank you for sharing. If you need any other questions answered, please let one of us know. Warmly, CookieZeal
