Nothing's Ever Just Skin Deep

There's something strange melting into my skin
that I have never felt before.

The way it washes over me and covers
like a blanket, I will never understand. It
caresses the back of my neck
and send shivers down my spine.
I feel it in tip of my toes every time I
take a step. It races through my veins
and pulses through my heart.
Such an unrecognizable feeling
that has consumed my every limb and sent
me on a trip of glee. Feeling as though
hallucinogens have clouded
my sights and cast me into an exquisite daze, I
run through my memories
of all that is old, and find myself
the happiest
when I’m in your arms.

So this pristine feeling that engulfs
and captures nothing but the best from me
comes from a boy,
whose slightest touch to my skin
can send my through this daze again.
