Paging my Muse

Where have you gone to?
Where is it you stay?
I need you here so badly
and I mean right away!

I can’t write these words
dangling 'round in my mind,
without your guiding light
my fingers are blind!

Can’t you see I'm faltering
now that you've slipped away?
So please come back to me...
I need a fresh start today!

Oh, I wish my muse were born with bells on her toes! It is much too often now that I am at a loss for what to write. Usually when I am doing too many things at a time, or have too much on my mind my muse must get freaked out and she hides.

For this reason, I have a folder on my computer packed full of "unfinished works" ones I began and for some reason or other was interrupted and couldn't finish. The downfall on my part must be that I do not write in intervals and I don't leave pieces unfinished, becuase once my inspiration is gone.. it stays gone

A great write that many a writer should understand very well. s and best wishes... ~genielassie~

I do not think your muse is very far off. Probably hiding right behind you.
Your write was fun to read and had great rhyme, rhythm and flow.
    Good luck in the contest.

See that. . .. even when you think you have nothing to write about, there is always seomthing there. Now we need to have a contest with poems about "nothing" a la Seinfeld.

    light and entertaining.

Sandy, this is a light, musical poem and I enjoy it very much. It has the rhyme we were asked for, and you have done that well and you have done well with the meter. I get the feeling that you have written many times beforem because this is good. The form matches the message, and the humour hides there under a blanket of yearning. How magic is that? For whom are you searching? Is it your poetry muse? I think it is there with you even if you can't see it, because you write so fluently. Now I am going to read you home page and some more poetry by you.

    Dear Sandi;
So sorry to hear you've been under the weather. I'm happy to see that you have posted a lovely, whimsical poem to herald your recouperation. I bet if you set out a nice hot toddy of ginger brandy... your muse would be there in a flash.

If I find her, will you promise to post more of your beautiful poetry? I miss it tremendously.

Cute little poem, Sandi. I think mine is out partying with yours. Perhaps we need a major search party.

Good luck in the contest. Maybe a trophy will bring her back to you.

    Bestest of wishes
    ~Meli~
