My knight in shining armor, with ebony curls of hair...
As precious as the sun rising in the East...
Always watching over me with such tender care..

It was not love at first, but friendship and more
Love was slow but soon was knocking on my door

And in time on a freezing December afternoon
I  opened my heart  and it was not too soon
For many days I left you to drown in silent tears
My insecurities loomed, was caught in my own fears

I now in hindsight wonder how I could have been
