Look how beautiful?
The black satin sheets form a noose around the neck of the body you inhabit.
The body you take, but can never own.
You just wish your heart wasn’t made of stone.
A lie to you is a pound of gold, for then you know someone cares enough to protect you.
But protect you from what?
You’re charred black inside.
Nothing you own could be anything to the rest of us.
Stop hiding yourself, it only makes it worse.
All we want is to see this beauty unfold.
Not dead, not frozen, but the simple beauty of black on black.
A silken robe of darkness enfolds you and for some reason, on you, it looks stunningly familiar.
The rest of us would have been choked in its seams.
It gives you a reason to stifle your screams.
This heart that we hold in our hands still beats warm.
I’d give you a beat, but to do that, I’d have to kill him.
Can’t share the wealth when a life’s on the line.
I’ll tear out your heart, make you pay the same fine.
Look at him, he’s further with every beat.
Give him your blood!
Give him one pulse at least.
If he dies tonight we’ll blame it on you.
The guilt is too much.
Sink back into your cave.
When you return, the real you better have something to say.
Stop hiding yourself, it only makes it worse.
All we want is to see this beauty unfold.
Not dead, not frozen, but the simple beauty of black on black.
He breathes.
You live.
You’re unmasked, and a black sea enraptures the best of us.
Death is not reserved for the worst, and life is a dream for those too scared to wake up.
Cover me, pray for me, lighten my face, and carry me home…

Black Poem and very well described almost like a cry from Hell from a soul trapped inside. The black clings tight as it provokes the strangest thoughts just like the imagery you employ so well.Black moods and black intentions with a black beat truly make this a Black on Black Beauty.Sensitive and scary.Really enjoyed this dark read.Almost surreal.Elizabeth -
