Perfect at birth,
before the vultures arrived.
Bit by bit,
they take a piece of me.
Fragments being drifted away,
holding on to what is left as I flee.
Searching for a safe haven,
away from view;
Hoping that somehow I can make it through.
They,too,started life like I.
Why now,do they circle the sky?

This is an awesome poem. Unfortunately there has to be those who want to pick you apart in life. They enjoy doing it too. Sad as it may be. Keep up the awesome poetry!!! Thank you for entering my contest.

I really like the metaphors that you have captured within the lines of this poem here
though it's quite dark, and a powerful complaint against society, somehow it has a soothing feel to it
well done!

The second in your life? Blimey. I thought it was very good, till you said that. Now I think it's exceptional. -
Very interesting to ponder this piece. The words make you think and make you adapt to this meaning that you have presented us. Thank you very much for sharing and welcome to AP. Tony.
