Candles, candles, every night
Flickering flames, burn so bright
Aide me in my meditation
Divine one, make my connection
I light a red for energy and strength
Let it burn at great length
Bring me love, lust, and passion
Reach my goals in vibrant fashion
To orange wicks, I now do burn
For great ambition in business earned
Encourage me to do my best
So that I may have utmost success
Now yellow is the next I find
Persuasive confidence to ease my mind
Protection and logic as I burn this wick
Great memory, intelligence, learning quick
Pink is the next that I must use
Bring me peace from emotional abuse
Friendships blossom, nurtured and caring
Honor, romance, love, and sharing
When I light this candle green
That stands for luck and physical healing
Personal growth and reaching goals
That comes from deep within the soul
Light blue takes on a calming force
Tranquility, patience of course
Let me understand, communicate
With all life's gifts as I create
Dark blue brings me protective skills
Good fortune blessings it does will
Wisdom to stand the sands of time
Deep spirituality that I may find
The purple candle, influences much
Perfect my magic, divination, trust
Let me see clear with the mind's eye
Relieve my tensions, let ambitions fly
Find a brown and burn it fast
To encourage friendships made to last
Heal the animals, they need us too
But don't forget about me and you
Now black, who all think is bad
Burns to repel the negativity, the sad
Aides to protect from evil deeds
Helps to meet our souful needs
White, the purest of all light
Brings peace of mind, clarity, sight
Cleanse the soul from head to toe
Let all the tension, hatred go
Now when I have a candle of gold
I let it burn bright and bold
To bring me safety, personal wealth
As it stands for The God, happiness and health
And silver for The Goddess divine
Neutrality, powers of the feminine kind
She takes me on a mental journey
Through dreams and astral realms I scurry
I have lit my candles, each in turn
And let their magical energy burn
Absorbing all that each proposed
Reverse direction, circle closed

Believe me, when I find a kick-ass sale on candles, I buy everything I can. The great thing is that the candles can be small little votives, and still have all the same meaning. You could even burn birthday candes if you just needed a boost of energy. It's what you do and say with those candles that adds energies... not just the color alone.

Thank you for great words/comments. It isn't exactly what I chant, but you get the gist. I figured I had better stop with the most basic of colors..had I gone into detail about other colors, I probably would have been thrown out of the contest for boring the crap out of everyone with length, lol.

Wow this is excellent it almost sounds like the chants you do while lighting each candle...I love the magical realm it is so calm and peaceful I hope you get gold with this it one of the best longest rhyming poems I have EVER heard and you kept it going wonderfully. I used to love reading Wiccan and Pagan books and burning candles for each realm and direction it is really fun to do and neat. Great job god luck in the contest also loved how you told of each candle's secret
