Come to Him and Be Healed (Lento)

Bring your cares, all you troubled hearted,
Sing in His presence, your songs of praise,
Ring cymbals; clap your hands in gladness,
King almighty! In unison all voices raise.

Heaven sent its only son upon the sinful earth,
Deafen not your soul from hearing His message,
Sharpen your ears and listen to His silent call,
Deepen your faith to free yourself from bondage.

Let me have a little of your fire, Brother

This is much harder than I thought
    Bliss is evasive in pursuit.
Miss the concept and you will founder
Kiss your dream goodbye to boot.

Reach your hand to this abandoned lad,
Each one of mine do grasp to haul me up,
Teach me the ways of your father's wisdom.
Beseech the Master that He share this cup.

What a wonderful Lento, Lencio! Ofcourse, you're the creator of this wonderful form, so naturally you make a perfect poem in this style! Love the rhymes, and the flow. I'm not a christian (hope you don't mind), but I can see the beauty of the words. I will definately try to write one, and I will try to get it into your Lento-contest. You have my sincere applause, my friend! Jim

This is a beautiful poem Lencio, with a great message for Christians. I wonder if the four lines in the last stanza of your Lento are okay in the way as you have put them here. I thought all the first four words had to be the same. You have done it two by two: heaven/deafen - sharpen/deepen. Still a wonderful poem though. Anna.
