Razor Sharp

'I got you covered' i said
as i paid for the food
i was by no means in the mood
for an objection
so we sat in our seat
at our table
the one we always get
and you looked up at me
with a dopey smile
that you coined so well

i always wanted a man
with heart that could save
and a fuck that could kill
so i got just that, complete
with huge blue green puppy eyes
and a slightly warped sense of reality
but i got it just in time
and on the last day of my summer
we sat and ate a while

I don't remember anything thing you said
i don't remember what you had on
i cant recall the color it was
but the sky was black and the beach looked like poison
and i almost lost my flip flop in the mess of it
you're hair was being pulled by the
grip of the wind
and we were running for our lives against time
my time
and it felt all too dreamy like a devil lost at sea

but as the waves crashed against us
our jeans were wet past our knees
you guided me onto the rocks
that glittered with twilight
you were staring at me like you had you heart
burning out from your eyes
and if looks could kill
i swear to god
your eyes murdered me that night
