Can You See Me?

I refuse to walk in her shadow,
I am good enough for me,
That’s all anyone needs to know,
That’s all anyone needs to see.

Try and make me what she was,
And I will surely snap,
I’m only screaming cuz’,
This is all a load of crap.

Can I only be compared,
To someone nothing like me,
I can’t be her, that doesn’t mean I’m impaired,
I just wish someday you’ll see......

Me.

Author notes

Oy. So, I wrote this in 2005 sometime. I'm compared to my sister ((who is ten years older than me)) alot. She was valedictorian of her highshcool, she has this great horse she trained ((we show horses)) She's a vet and graduated college suma cum laude, she was a size 3 in highschool, is a size 5 or 6 now. I wasn't a size 6 in elementary school. but anyway, I'm done. Hope you made it through the poem AND the notes....

    good

Normally I would have not read a poem like this, but I am glad I did. You seem to bring out the subject quite well and deal with your feelings. Bravo

LOL..i read the poem and the notes. I hate being compared to someone else that SEEMS more successful.. you are still young and you still have the chance to show everyone that you can be just as successful or do a better job than her. You are you and if they dont like it..hell. you should be happy with what and who you are...you dont need to be the best
    Just be you.

    Excellent

I must admit I'm not overly into the situation this poem seems to cover, however the way you put it forward is amazing.
You manage to keep the reader reading and the entire thing flows so well. You have so much talent =)
