The flowers I bought
were simply a gift
I had no idea
they woud leave her miffed
She had been so sweet
the night before
when we made love
on the living room floor
But then she cried
and couldn’t sleep
wouldn’t even let me
rub her feet.
Now today
she’s throwing things
threatening to even
take off her rings
I am confuse
by what she’s said
one minute she loves me
then wishes
I were dead.
I am sure
it is the change of life
but it is getting hard
to live with her
but she is my wife
But I will console
and duck from her swing
but I’ll be real careful
about what I bring.
I’ll let her sweat
or turn up the heat
I’ll bring her flower
or rub her feet
One thing for sure
that gives me pause
is how long does it last
this menopause

Fab!
When you find out (how long it lasts) will you tell me? This poem is really fun and I wish you all the best in the competition. I wrote something similar on the menopause but with a totally different slant. It's such a relief to know that there are some guys out there who 'cope' with the mood swings' etc. I just lose things ... keys, bag, mind, clothes ... -
omgosh funny
