Whoever, whatever
Behold, a frown upon their forehead
Ever muse over what triggered their reaction?
Are they only confused, vexed?
Why is it that we never ask?
Are we only too afraid of the answer?
The world has become dissonant
This depressing haze is my insolence
Never amused, I place myself soft spoken
Shivering down, so alert I can’t awaken
Are we just dreaming?
Always searching for the answers but nothing is found.
Just fall away again.
Slangs ringing in monotone
I bite my tongue
What fascinating creatures we are
Wicked when we’re raw
Living for the next wave of pleasure
Leather candle wink dissipates as we weather
We desire but it’s filthy
Throwing your logic away
Your hands so guilty
I pray to not sway
Where does the everlasting fruit lie?
Only knowing that we’ll die
Screaming out of cue
Is that myself talking or is it you?
I don’t understand what’s happening to me
Dear God, I perceive but I cannot see
Are we just dreaming?
Always searching for the answers but nothing is found.
Just fall away again.
The sun is beaming through my chest
Warming my body, lifting my soul
Dear, what is my next step?
Are we all caffeine bent?
Are we all confused?
Lost sheep?
Our idiosyncrasies
Lament hypocrisy
I tried to love what the world intimately holds
Only to grieve an empty soul
Are we just dreaming?
Always searching for the answers but nothing is found.
Just fall away again.
The sun is beaming through my chest
Warming my body, lifting my soul
My heart I have feared
Dare I say, Jehovah, may I rest here?

My! This certainly blew me away. First of all congrats on such an AWESOME POEM!!! I adore beautiful phrases and runs-of-words. You certainly have a perfectly tuned hand with things like this, "caffeine bent" & "Leather candle wink dissipates as we weather" & "Slangs ringing in monotone" The content and context of this poem is so intriguing I was a little let down when you didn't elaborate on this in your author's comments. Please do. This really stirs that silt settling in your mind. But anyway thanks for putting refreshing poetry like this up, keep it up!
