A mothers plea

a mothers love
at the age of one shes very vulnerable
she's loving and caring and so very lovable
the sparkle in her eyes can melt you like ice
when she smiles its like your in paradise
she walks with a glide
and talks so polite
not a bad word i could say
shes my love, my world forever and a day

a fathers hate
at the age of one she is as annoying as can be
shes manipulative and a fright
her eyes are like ice she throws daggers with despise
she frowns none stop and is always in a strop
she stamps round the room
she silently raw
not a good thing he can say
shes no love in his life just a itch he cant reach

at the tender age of one
so scared of men so scared to be left
a mothers plea to set her daughter free
to scared to look away in case he hurts that little girl again
how can a little girl go through so much pain
how can a mother not get justice done

at the tender age of one
all goals nearly done
just me and you little girl he wont hurt us no more

Author notes

this is two sides of a coin. the difference between physical and mental abuse is scars fade. this is our life

    Thank you for your entry

So very sad. I feel for both of them. I hope if this is true, they get help.

    God Bless

Ouch! The pain this little girl must feel seems equaled only by the mothers pain. It's sad to see something like this happening and you've expressed it very well in this two sided poem.

A very good poem and I wish you luck in the contest

This is a painful write for me because as a mother you just want to love and protect your children and in a way you want everyone to love your child.

Thanks for your comments much appreciated xxx

    sad

Not a world I have any experience of but all children are
precious, no one should ever ever hurt them, a mother`s love
is protecting and this poem shows this perfectly.

    Great Poem

I really like this poem, I felt a bit of confusion, anger and a lot of love.

how can a mother not get justice done .. this is a powerful question. Unfurtantly justice doesn't come as fast as the pain came or comes, infact justice never does come swiftly.. but it will come .. sometimes we are there to witness it and sometimes we are not. We just have to have faith that justice will find it's foe even thou we may never now it has.
