She sat on the couch
With an cup of coffee in her hand,
Complaining she needed to sleep more.
It wasn't her fault
she had been distracted
by friends, family, even the little hole in the floor,
to not study.
Wasn't her fault
the teachers had to give finals
...especially in two hours time.
So she propped the book and sipped the coffee.
She realized the paint was chipping,
and the windows were dirty,
and there was dust...everywhere.
The homeless man that sometimes walked by
was sitting by the street corner
debating whether or not to leave.
Another sip of coffee, and a glance at the TV
Why were newscasters orange?
Who reads the news tickers?
What time is it?
Finally she looked back at the book,
and tried to take a sip of coffee...
but it was empty.
So she got up to fill it again,
and left the books on the floor
where they would remain
until she remembered them again.

This is so neat! Is this about you or someone you know, or is it just a write? I really like it!
-
Such vivid imagery was this based on anyone particular?
-
I was right there. I could see her getting distracted and sipping her coffee. Nicely done. The detail and imagery were right on. I loved it.

I love the amount of detail in this piece! I saw every word, like a picture painting itself with each well thought line... I regret I have not been on enough to read up on everyone. I hope that all is well with you and yours!!!

Sounds a lot like myself only I don't even attempt to look at books, lost half them anyways. Not a bad write, easily relatable. Thanks for the entry, take care and God bless.
