Getting in shape

I
wrote a poem
t’was round like the sun.
But I really didn’t like that one.
So I wrote another that was flat…
Then I thought: who’d ever care for that?
Next time I wrote a poem cubed. Yes square!
but it had no style ~~ no pizzazz ~~ no freakin flare.
So I got my pen and wrote my best one yet.  It take’s the cake
just for it’s silhouette. Of course ~ it’s not a triangle, God forbid!
Do I really have to tell you it’s a pyramid?  It's called imagination people!

Author notes

I'll bet that's not what you thought it was going to be about when you read the title.  In case you didn't notice this called shape poetry and the poem itself is shaped like whatever it's about.  Patti.
