The Divisions Among Us

There is a disparity and tension
between we separate distinct bodies
Between individuals and nations I won't mention

In unity we could be
reaching to each other in
a universal safe life guarantee

One would think
desire to live
a mutually acceptable common link

But we bodies of division
each and every separate being
produce in our very limited vision
the self-defeating conflicts we are seeing

We self-centered discrete beings
are so myopic we can't see
consideration of everyone's feelings
is the way we all should be

Our behavior is simply insane
with no sign of intelligent self-interest
some call it the "reptilian brain"
It is sin, conscious or repressed

Gregarious on the surface
within spoiling for a fuss
Who is this enemy that we face?
Obviously - it is us

A universal unity does exist
I found it with Jesus Christ
Those who do unball their fist
Love God and others, follow Jesus' advice

With our Universe Maker
our answer up from in us wells
His Spirit becomes our Mover and Shaker
God's nature now dwells within ourselves.
