The Artistic Bent image#2

From a liquid canvass restrained~
       artistic passion appears.
Driven by a pen to paper proclivity~
        unbridled ability steers.

Etching a picture to dress the part~
      moving to illustrate life.
Feeling exposed in spirit longings~
       dresses to alleviate strife.

In it's deepest longings to express~
        not that which is,but could be.
Beauty that only a few moments ago~
       clearly wasn't there to be seen.

In the deepest recesses of the artistic soul~
       is a longing to change this world.
To create a lasting beauty in portrait drawn~
       to the mind a gift unfurled.

       ~~~Suseann~~~
    Wonderful!
    Damn! What beautiful writing! Only a true artist could have written these words. You have reached into the soul of the artist and exposed it to the world.
    this does fit the picture extremely well, the etching of a beauty seen before it disappears from mind, even to the extent of drawing the hand drawing the hand, a wonderful offering, well done
    You were so correct about the words fitting the image so perfectly as if they were meant to go together. I simply HAD to place the image on your page. Should you have to edit the page, it SHOULD remain intact since you are a gold member. Placing images are easy. I will send you the directions. You have done a beautiful job here. Thank you for entering the contest and good luck.
    it was just one of those cute mistypes, Suse. especially since the word "dress" was in the same line and I kept thinking of that itchy wooly dress I had years back! good luck in the contest with this...I checked the image afterwards, and it was PERFECT!
    I didn't check the image in reading this poem, Suseann, but I'm envisioning your "drawing" here as the writing of a poem. it just feels this write is coming from both art forms to me...so much of a portrait, so much of yourself. I'm so tempted to take a peek, but will wait until I've posted this comment! It really is a well-written poem Suse...and I wish you much luck in the contest!
    P.S.: In S2/L1 I think you mean "Etching," but other than that, all reads great!
