i slip down
into the window seat
where you used to hold me close
now i lay numb
cold and alone
you left me here
so you could leave
to live for something more
i take another sip
from the bottle in my hand
its something i found in the cabinet
it eases the pain
the pain of your absence
you left me here
in a great pit of despair
and so
i drink you away
and i watch
i watch you
walk away
through the fogged glass on the window
i trace a heart around your figure
you on the other side
and know
that you love me no longer
i let me fingers slip down
slip down the center
making the heart around you break
just like the one i hold now
another look though the window
another sip from the bottle
another moment alone

Outstanding
I love the originality of the poem. Even though it is a love poem, it isn't cheesy nor cliche. I love the irony of the poem (stanza tranzition) and the vivid imagrey. I would work on capitalization (sometimes I get a little lazy on it, too) and possibly some grammar errors(?). Look forward to more! -
Can feel the numbness you write about in these lines. Liquor keeps it that way.
