Outside the Box - The Solution

Twinkle, twinkle little star
How I wonder...

When you look up at a star
Do you think on what you are
And how your life on earth you can fulfill?

Do you look up sitting still
Into the broad night sky
Think about how wars kill and ask why?
Why does God put up with us?
Why are we worth the fuss?

Wanderers, like the planets,
Lost we are we take for granted.
We go our way every day
And disobey our Maker's Way.
In the box of our own way
We never fail to go astray.

In the dark we're shadow men
Upon the earth in its spin
As above the starry host
In guided motions are engrossed
Going in circles of their own
While on earth in circles roam.

We need a star of Bethlehem,
Like the one for the wise men,
Need God's Light to light our way.
Not TV that now holds sway
That we watch what they pay
For us to see -- their ads --
For Dads and lads
To buy their stuff. ---
You don't have enough
We're told in every break.

Most of TV is not real,
Time we waste on TV spiel.
We are in the TV box,
Watch dumb jokes to mask life's knocks.
There's a world outside that box,
A world that TV blindness blocks.

Do you look up at the sky
And ask yourself who am I?
Where is the true answer found?
Not under us in the ground!
Is it in the sky you ask.
How difficult is the task
To find the answer to life's knocks?
It's not found in the TV box.

Is there something we've overlooked?
Are our frantic lives overbooked?
Where's that answer we're looking for?
Where's that answer, little star?

We can't begin to know much,
There is much we never see.
What we see like stars and such
Evoke thoughts that don't agree.

We're all in a different place
From the rest of our race.
Our experience is different in every case.
We each came from a different starting place.

This causes conflict; we think differently.
Some see one way and some another,
Each different perceptions, and evidently,
Much we each have yet to uncover.

In our box we miss what's outside.
Conflict arises; we skin each other alive.
Since today there is no place to hide,
Sad to say, we often just collide.

So what is the answer?  Why can't we get along?
This is the unsolved question of the ages.
We're always singing the same old sad song
Of negotiations and peace talks as the fighting rages.

Do we have sense enough to know
It took infinite intelligence to make all this?
It had to be planned just as it's so:
Everything we make is planned before it exists.

So we know there is a Supreme Planner,
A Creator of infinite time and space,
A designer and planner who is an eternal time spanner.
God is the designer of our human race.

How do you know the Bible is not true
If you have not read it yourself first hand
And did not stop until you got completely through?
You will see it's true if you do, and you'll understand.

It is God's Word as you have heard.
Don't knock it until you have read it.
Some who start out thinking it's absurd
End up saying it's all a perfect fit.

Friend, the only way you'll ever know
Is to find it out for yourself.
The true solution God's Holy Word will show.
Take that dusty Bible down off that musty shelf!
