Squeaky Clean Cat, suave and debonair,
Like all cats is covered with hair.
If he weren't, people would stare,
But Squeaky Clean Cat has lots of hair.
He goes to a lady barber
Where Squeaky Clean displays his ardour.
He brings her a candy bar
Which she heats in his hair
Where it melts like tar.
Then Miss Barber licks all that,
Makes his hair lie down flat.
Also makes him smell just like
My favorite candy, Chocolate Rat!
Now on fire, she closes the shade.
In dim light, Squeaky Clean has straid.
At home he is a married man,
But out gets by with all he can.
He roams the meadow and the woods
Looking for forbidden goods,
Ladies who will go with him
At no more than a whim.
Today this barber filled the bill
Washed his hair and had the will
To breathe him in for the kill.
She now ate him with great skill.
Meow was his very last word.
Squeaky Clean's scream, the last sound heard.
Earth, air, fire, and water
I heard, smelled, tasted, felt, and saw
The black widow barber perform the slaughter
And eat him raw.

awwww! thats really sad. i feel sorry for squeaky. i totally love this poem, though! but, why would the barber eat the cat? i find it kinda strange, also....
-
What an unusual write - where did this come from? Must have been watching a Tom and Jerry cartoon or some such thing - maybe a Felix the Cat movie? LOL

You know... I'm not so sure this title fits, I mean... if she melts a candy bar and licks it out of his fur, he is probably not that squeaky clean. lol She probably didn't MEAN to eat him... she must have thought he was chocolate or something. Maybe it was that time of the month... poor cat... Thanks for sharing, this was pretty interesting! Keep it up!

Ellis! You killed a cat! You LOVE cats! A poem with canibalism, too! I am stunned.
So clever is this poem and the poet who wrote it, I will say that I vote it GREAT!
