What does this word mean to you?
A sign of affection,
A demonstration of anger,
Common cover for an ugly life.

Are you always waiting,
Longing for the day,
Where he finally says "you're beautiful".
Beauty,
What does this word mean to you?
Is the longing for the word worth the suffering?
If they do not think of the word beauty,
Every time they think of you,
Will you suffer in silence?
Beauty,

Irreconcilable anger,
A dis concerning attempt,
Or a trip to the hospital.
Beauty,
What does this word mean to you?

I believe this is target more at society's obsession with "Image and Beauty" and what people will do to become "Beautiful".
Fad diets, surgery, intense and extensive periods of exercise (which isnt as bad, everyone should be fit and healthy) which everyone puts themselves just so they can be beautiful and accepted by society. In this stanza:
"Beauty,
What does this word mean to you?
Irreconcilable anger,
A dis concerning attempt,
Or a trip to the hospital."
I felt like you were talking about Belumics and Aneroxic (Forgive me if I spelt those wrong, spelling isn't my greatest strengths) and how they can hospitalize themselves in their efforts.

Hi, thanks for entering my contest. You left me a comment on the contest page saying your not sure that this poem is what im looking for, so at first i was a little aprehensive about reading it. But im delighted to say that I loved it. This different take on the word beauty is exactly what im looking for. There are so many different thoughts about "beauty" but aswell as all the bright happy thoughts when I hear the word beauty, like you, i think of the suffering for it and the sadder side of it.
