notice me please

All I ever wanted was a little recognition
A single word of praise would have sufficed
All I ever wanted was for you to notice me…
Now wouldn’t that be nice?
I know you say you love me
And I know you say you care
But do you notice my emotions
Or how I wear my hair?
You tell me about your life
Your successes, hopes and dreams
But mine mean nothing to you
Or at least that’s how it seems.

Author notes

I wrote about this about 6 months ago too... You'd think I'd have done something about it by now.

Haven't read anything from you in awhile Jen. Regardless of this fact, this is a good piece. Though it is short the rhyme scheme and flow is beautiful and it was very much enjoyed.
Hope you had a great new year! Can you even believe you are graduating in 5 months? Where are you applyin to colleges?
Keep up the good work dahling

    Too true.

Everyone has their moments in life like this. You captured it well too. It's so sad though, isn't it? We're all so self-centered and self-righteous and don't care about others at all..

I always get so scared poems like this are about me.

regardless, people care whether they voice it or not. It's taken me quite a while to realize that one, lol. Love you.
