It was a day like no other
the temperature was rising
the polar ice caps were melting
that wasn't all that surprising
I looked out my from window
there off in the distance
was an army of penguins
meeting little if no Resistance
They marched up the sidewalk
straight to my front door
the meanest I had ever seen
numbered a hundred or more
They came in the bedroom
charging me ready to attack
some were in front of me
more penguins behind my back
I was completely surrounded
did not know what to do
I began to panic and scream
what else was there to do
Then I got a brain storm
these guys needed to be cool
I looked out the backdoor
there was our swimming pool.
They hung up there tuxedos
to keep their coats dry you see
then walked out the backdoor
unsuspecting as can be
Like the pied piper I led them
with some tuna in a can
now they are swimming in the pool
splashing round and getting tan.
So if you see a penguin army
marching on a summer day
use your secret weapon Charlie
have cans of tuna stashed away

Wow! That's a great strategy! I would have never thought of this one.
I loved your rhyming as usual and the flow was awesome. It had me laughing the entire way through. I also like that last stanza which really summed up the poem. Yes, indeed the penguin army is coming. I'm glad some people see it my way.
Awesome entry! Thanks for entering.
