Gazing into the past...
Parents divorce, people dying
Broken friendships, pain from my brother
Opportunities that I missed out on
Regretting certain decisions
Times when I just wanted to die
Thinking about everything I’ve given up on
All the people I hurt with my actions
Back to when I use to be a brat
The time my heart fell out and even duck tape couldn’t fix it
Remembering the people who’ve changed my life
My smiling face at birthday parties
Freckled face, blonde hair, blue eyes
Life has really changed....
Growing up hasn’t been very easy,
But it was doable and I’m doing it....
Reflecting back on life,
I wouldn’t change a thing.

Author notes
I wrote this on the airplane coming home from Florida. Not sure if you guys will like it... but ya. It's kind of personal, but also kind of something others can relate to. I don't know. Let me know what you think

Ya, I thought about that duck tape thing... thought I'd be funny if I stuck that in there.
Our past makes us who we are today. Without some of the things I've done or gone through I don't think I'd be the same person.
Thanks for your lovely comment.

That's really kool Tim, I know what you mean though, looking back on life a lot of things changed, I really know what you mean by a heart broke so that even duct tape can't fix it...they say duct tape fixes everything but on this pah called life, we run into a lot of things that it can't even begin to help. In life we run into many challenges, it can be from others, from situations, accidents, family memebers....even yourself...We look back on our selves, the way we act, the people we've hurt andhelped...even the way we look...realizing how much we've changed, physically, emotionally..spiritutally... beautiful poem Tim, you show just that, how much a person can really change...makes a person think...beautiful

This is one lengthy walk, down memory lane and each step is a milestone by itself, survival of the fittest....
And your poem out here epitomises this adage to the fullest...keep penning..May God Bless you..cheers

My brother ran away like 13 times, ended up in different foster homes, went to jail a bunch of times, had anger issues, and stuff like that.... Plus like when my parents got divorced I was 4 years old so I really needed some attention, but my brother took it all because he was running away. Ya.... Thanks again!

PS> I was wondering...you said "pain from my brother"
Would you mind telling me what that refers to, or, is it too personal?
