All Lose In War
The e-mail from their mother came on Mother's Day
She spoke of her love and had only good things to say
She survived ten more months in Iraq
Before she was killed in an attack
Another letter home told how young many were who lost their life
Just married, he had spent only a few months with his wife
Before he was shipped off to Iraq
He never came back
It was a lighter tap on her door
She had never heard a tap like this before
She would not let the man in dress greens in
When he brought the news of the death of her kin
Families on both sides suffer through this.
All lose in war, -- war should be a thing to miss.
The pain of war is by all on both sides shared,
Why on earth then doesn't war end -- so all lives would be spared?

Total Peace
I see the sense to a total pacifist,
A “give peace a chance" kind of guy.
In total peace my belief, too, consists;
No one should have to die.
Soldiers kill; that is their evil job
Regardless of the country they are from.
Their governments are just like the mob.
They say, “Do this killing, Son.”
Jesus said to “Love your enemies.”
That is all that we have to do.
From war EVERYone should flee.
What do you think; how about you?

All We Are Saying Is Give Peace A Chance
The echo on paper of the thoughts in my head,
you bring forth things I wish I'd have said.
I am hopeful for peace, I wish more humans were,
the feelings in my heart, your prose does stir.
I love you in peace and infinite understanding,

very good indeed
These poems make a stronger point together - the loss of loved ones due to war strikes both sides, and not equally either, civilians lose more when armies fight over them. We can't estimate the value of one life; the mind boggles when counting so many.
The way to peace is not by fighting, just as safety is no accident. There is an attitude that we have to guard ourselves from attack, but what if we gave everyone the food, education and hope they need? Peace-building and peace-keeping deserve more support than war.
Bless you Ellis, these are good thoughts and you express them with compassion and passion.

Beautiful !!!!!
I really love reading about peace and anything to do with it! It makes me really happy to think that others put their time and telent into writing about peace and how we can reach it !!! I love your work!!! -
Excellent
I really liked the first peom, it's amazing and so true. Jesus told us to "not resist evil". -
These are both pretty good, but the second one seemed a little rough. I agree with the sentiments expressed in both poems. The reasons for war are usually greed for power and money. The people are given false reasons to justify fighting, but the elite usually profit.

Thought provoking and true
I just can't imagine how it would be
to loose in a war, someone close to me.
I wouldn't either want to let that man in.
My anger would make me kick him in the shin.
I'd scream bloody murder and then I'd just cry,
"Why for YOUR issues, did MY husband die?!"
Another unavoidable casuality of war-
are those comming home-but not like before.
To do as their told, they must be trained.
Their God given conscience can't be maintained.
To live with their guilt for the orders they followed
the morals and values from their heart must be hollowed.
So, why can't we live in peace and be free?
Because Satan himself doesn't want that to be.
