Water Tower Hill

I lay down my treasured book
And take but a moment to look
Upon my two four footed friends
That move with energy that has no end
Gleefully they give chase to protesting ducks
Ruapehu Tongariro Ngaruhoe
All three mountains crowned in white
The birds have finally taken flight
My neighbour’s fields are freshly furrowed
Ready for planting on the morrow
Summer itch has my eyes
In-between swatting annoying flies
Time to take a well earned rest
I do believe I am truly blessed
My blanket is summer sun
My dogs have finally finished their fun
