Happy 2006!

Happy 2006!
"Blow out your candlesticks"

Auld Lang Syne
www.garritan.com/xmas/AuldLangeSyne.mp3

It's twelve o'clock midnight
And everyone cheers
Sipping bitter champagne
And their favorite beers

Fireworks, and sparklers
Tipping bottles to skies
Gazing into sweet depths
Of romantic, pure eyes

There's singing and dancing
Romancing the New Year
Tilt your blow horns up high
And forget all old cares

Make new resolutions
Keep some alive and well
Put your best foot forward
And live your fairytale

Be honest and faithful
Use wisdom to be true
Live your life in good health
Love the ones who love you

I'd like to give some thanks
To all of my friends dear
Remember, I Love You
And a "Happy New Year"

Very nice one, guys! Not sure about the "bitter champagne" though... Must not be Dom Perignon or Veuve Cliquot

Happy New Year to you too!

I like this overall. If it were for a more comercialized holiday, I would say it ought to be in a greeting card (a good greeting card, not the over-priced, over-sappy ones). The only suggestion I have would be to try evening out the meter in a few places, but great job overall.

It seems to me I've read other collaborations by you two poets. I can't remember off the top of my head which ones they were, but I remember thinking at the time they seemed perfectly seamless, well bended together, smooth - as though written by a single poet. I think that is the sign of a good collaboration.

I love the graphic in the background - my home of Manhattan. The lights, the reflection in the river, the fireworks... no other place or setting seems so New Year Eve-ish to me (is that a word??) I'm counting down the hours already to when I'll ring in the New Year at Times Square.

Thank you for sharing this one! And Happy New Year!

WOW! I love this! This is a wonderful poem for the New Year! I like it all. Besides, sipping champagne sounds nice. But, this is a swell poem and did you make up this poem but if you are, this is an excellent poem. I ran out of applauses so consider this as an applause. I would hake you hand for the New Years but...as you can see....anyways. Good job and keep in touch.

    Happ yNew year to all,

I'm still here wondering where did 2005 go???? I thought things would slow down when the kids were all grown and we were on our own again-not true, it's picked up speed.
This was a lovely gesture on the part of you two to wish all a Happy New Year! ~vj

    My Dearest Poeticweaver,
In yonder days we sang and danced,
Now look up to the skies in heavenly romance.
For Auld Lang Syne my dear, we bring good cheer
Now and throughout the coming New Year.
Happy 2006! My beloved Poeticweaver, to you and
everyone under the Lords majestic bright sun.
We’ll toast our cup of kindness for all to shine.
As fireworks and sparklers light the New Years Sky.
I rock n roll because of you my new old friend
Always there with a smile and a song to mend.
Let us make each beautiful day a celebration.
I give the world to be in your heart at midnight.
Oh, how I love you in the joyous New Year!
