Deny the Lie

My world grew so small,
a tiny part of me
retained the truth
The other denied,
and lived the lie.

Long years later, the she of me
crumbled from the inside out
Still we lived the lie and
denied the truth.

"Why do you loathe yourself so?"
Startled, I let the truth leak out
and finally, denied the lie.

The world grew so large
my fear grew with it
the little one me, cried for us
To live the lie was easy,
The truth might kill us both.

The sadness turned
to anger,pure energy
for us, the survivors
to use to heal.

Power primed for
justice, revenge
will be used to
deny the lie,
live with the truth.

we have pride
we do survive.

Author notes

To tell the world of anger and abuse means admitting it to yourself first.

That was awsome! It doesn't exactly rhyme, but it flows nicely.
