Smith & Wesson (Cento Triolet)

Cold drink chillin in my right hand
Vodka, Kahlua, milk and some coke
I could drink these all night; they're just my brand.
Cold drink chillin in my right hand
Just a little bit, and I really can't stand!
My tolerance is low, and that's no joke
Cold drink chillin in my right hand
Vodka, Kahlua, milk and some coke

Sleepin' off the night before,
I think I might need a little gatorade.
My eyes are blurry; my head is sore
Sleepin off the night before
The next day I always swear, no more!
Then, I always forget so many times I've played
Sleepin' off the night before,
I think I might need a little gatorade.

Author notes

This triolet takes its italicized lines from When the Sun Goes Down By Kenny Chesney.  Enjoy.

LOL!!! Gatorade is a sports drink, actually named for the a sports team called the Gators, I believe. It has lots of electrolites that help when you're hungover and severely dehydrated!

    I could sing it ?

For the uninitiated, what on earth is 'gatorade'. It sounds like mashed alligator with vodka and lemonade! Yuk! A rhythmic song of much energy touching certain wave lengths more than others. As generations pass, more is the pity. Thank you Lyndon

Heeeee! nice to see some people can find uses for Gatorade other than just dumping them on other people at sports event...maybe it all ties in somehow...
    Nice poem, it's very cool.

Well, another poet on here held a Christmas Triolet contest, asking us to start with the line from a Christmas song. I enjoyed it so much that the two of us will soon be running a contest with the same idea, only instead of Christmas songs... it will be songs from a variety of artists. I'll send you the link once it's posted!

A Smith & Wesson is not just One shot of Vodka, milk and some coke. Look it up. You left something out.
But nice poem, I really liked it.
