I think it's gonna be a long long time
Before I’ll finally be strong on my own
Though, so many say it’s not a crime,
I think it's gonna be a long long time
The way I mature each time I climb
My family long has not condoned
I think it's gonna be a long long time
Before I’ll finally be strong on my own
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
When I finally find the courage to walk away.
I'll stop thinking about what might have been
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
My family has only hindered me again and again.
Though some may think it crazy to say.
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
When I finally find the courage to walk away.

This is really excellent, Pookiebubu. I wish I could get my brain round triolets, but I can't. Just sit here and enjoy other people's. The only Elton John I really remember is I Just Rang To Say I Love You otherwise I stop at Neil Diamond. After that I can't tell one singer from another. I just stick to classical. Lovely write. Looking forward to reading more. Joy -
After reading this, I just may have to start coming to you from now one to help with my own triolets I get stuck on.
This was truly an amazing linked triolet. You are doing such a beautiful job with them.

He is an amazing songwriter. I saw him when he was interviewed on the Actor's Studio. He sang a bunch of songs I had never heard of before, and it was then I realized what a talented man he is!

Bravo!!! Bravo!!! Bravo!!!
Deborah, You chose probably one of the most favorite artists that I listened to growing up and still love to hear his songs.
You have me singing Rocket man now. LOL
This was a fantastic Triolet as long as we don't end up on Mars, they say it's not "the kind of place to raise your kids, in fact it's cold as hell."
I had to add that in there.
I saw him in Foxboro MA in 1976 on July 4th, the Bicentennial. He came out on a silver glitter piano in a Statue of Liberty suit and when he ripped that open he was in a Star Spangled suit, he went right into his song Philadelphia Freedom. Phenominal artist and phenominal write that you have penned. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. Standing ovation as we did at the concert and a huge round of applause.
Love and blessings for you my dear friend, today and always.
