I wonder what you might do, if Jesus came to visit for a day,
Would you let him watch TV with you, or hurry a long his stay.
I wonder what would happen, if Jesus wanted a snack,
Would you still offer him some chips, and let him see the 24-pack?
If Jesus came to visit, would you speak as you do to your friends,
Or change when he was gone, and back yourself into dead ends?
If Jesus came to visit, would you let him hear your cd’s,
Or would you wait until he left, hiding them shamelessly?
If Jesus was to arrive on your steps, asking for warmth and food,
Would you recognize who he was, or lie and be delude?
If Jesus was to arrive on your steps, would you change your ways,
Or would you hide your normal habits, of sinning most of the days?
If the Savior came to visit, would you change your ways forever?
Or would that be too harsh for you to possibly endeavor?
I wonder what you might do, if Jesus finally came?
Maybe then I could look at the world and not feel so full of shame!
By the way, I’m going to say it anyways to everyone merry CHRISTmas!

what brought you to write this?

I would what you might do, if Jesus finally came? -- I think you meant wonder, not would.
If Jesus came to visit me...we'd light up a joint and laugh for hours. I hear He's one cool dude... -
Well done, Trot. A bare-bones poem written to make us think about important things.
If Jesus came to visit, I might hold a party for Him. But then, He and I would likely wind up in a corner talking shop. ;-)
Kudos on this write! -

an unlikely happening
Were he to pop round, he would get the same treatment as other unwanted callers: a bucket of cold water in his face and a poke in the eye with a pointed stick. Happy Christmas! -
This is a very good thought, and a good strong meaning behind it. nice job!
