Amidst the calm, Indian summer morning,
Calamity struck in less than one hour,
The whole world was in mourning..
Twin brothers fell..the horror!
The chaos and confusion..
The blood loss...the Terror!
From within a distance the enemy rejoiced, laughing with pleasure..
Ahhhh! Victory! Defeat of America! Success!!!!
The sudden thrill of death..
Blood smeared on his hands...
The coward hid safe beneath the earth
As millions of innocent people died in this Tragedy..
A nation stood still
Everywhere brother consoling brother..
A sea of American flags furled everywhere
To show the enemy
That a Suicide bomber or two cannot maim or kill
The spirit of brotherhood, democracy
America, like a great phoenix rises out of the ashes
And lives forever!

Amen. I see why you snagged a gold trophy. This is strong and powerful, full of conviction. I felt so angered and many other emotions that day. Keep penning, I'll read. Rose
