Song For A Season

Song For A Season

Upon us is the season
A special time to care
Our homes and hearts are open
With others we need share

A season just like magic
A sacred time of year
When family members gather
While angels hover near

Upon us is the season
To show love and believe
It's not about the presents
Or gifts we will receive

Glittering so near us
A golden Christmas Star
Ornamental Beauty
Is seen both near and far

Upon us is the season
To demonstrate His Gift
Of loving and forgiveness
All spirits He can lift

Love Him and remember Him
For Christmas is much more
Push aside the heartless
His Love we can't ignore

Upon us is the season
To free the heart and mind
Extend our hands in friendship
Be tolerant and kind

It's time to count our blessings
Let's see what we are worth
Heaven gave its miracle
We celebrate Christ's Birth

Great job! Of course you know that! I haven't read a poem of yours that I haven't enjoyed yet! I really like this because so many people forget what Christmas is really about and you reminded us! Thank you so much for sharing. The flow was very nice and the rhyme scheme was perfect! I like the line: push aside the heartless. It really stood out to me. I usually have constructive critism for poems I read, but I never find anything wrong with your poems! You are truly talented, I am so glad that you choose to use your talents for the Lord! May God Bless!

The reason I like your poem so much is because it offers a "real meaning" for Christmas. The "giving of ourselves" part of our hearts and souls. Thanks for your perspective...it is a much appreciated change and a wonderful spiritual oasis in today's material world.

Oh Leslie, you hold a gift everyone here yearns to possess, yet, you, alone, are the soul keeper of such woven words of poetry.I too believe in this belief of Christmas and how you splayed it on this foggy background and simply let your silk words flow rite off the screen was incredible.Defiently bookmarked and added to fav's my friend.Perfectly Done.
    God Bless and Happy Holidays!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that someone liked my poem besides you an my mom! LOL!! Oh well, hey, you guys rock! How do you do the multiple applause thing? I could probably read the AP directions instead of bugging you, huh? Sorry! I want to thank you for being such a sweet fan! I have been so danged sick with this Lupus thing, (nope, no cure for it yet; my dad died from it in 1993), so I'm hoping that life gets a bit better. Finding this site though a guy on Yahoo 360 really has been a God-send. The people who have been mean, I've block/ignored, but mainly, I have found some really nice and supportive friends. Now, if only God would give me a really nice, understanding, and Christian boyfriend for Christmas, then that would be perfect! No kids for me...not in my condition. Also, he can't expect me to support him. Guys I've run into of late seem to think that's my duty. GRRR..Sorry for going on and on! Thanks again! Blessings Always! Leslie (SparkleSatine)
