Another Christmas card arrived today
with a little puppy on the front.
It was a beagle wearing a wreath
even though he was naturally born to hunt.
He tossed it in the pile they made
of all the cards their families sent.
Then he smiled the way that he did
as he walked from underneath the tent.
Everyone seemed in good spirits there
as this holiday season nears.
Cards and letters from their children
go a long way to calm their fears.
They have each sent home presents
and secretly wish they too were going home.
Insuring though, their families safety
is what currently sets the tone.
America has not forgotten them this season
as many of them had feared
their country has made the effort
to share with them, their holiday cheer.
Each and every solider
stationed somewhere away from home
needs to know how much they are appreciated
and that they're not bringing in the season alone.
Have a safe and Merry Christmas
and very happy holidays!
Remember always that America loves you
as you protect us on Christmas Day.
Author notes
If you know me... this is normal
I was able to head up a program that allowed people to send our troops holiday blessings if they wished and am proud to do it.

WONDERFUL AND INSPIRING POEM
You should be proud my friend
As a matter of fact we should all be proud as we have soldiers far away from home protecting other people less fortunate than we are just beacuse that is the thing to do. Most of them are glad to do so and risk their lives for them everyday. So yes, we should be so very proud.
