I think everyone's been there
At one time or another.
I know I have.

When you reach the point of no return.
You want to scream out your life
To the unforgiving sky.

Anguish overwhelms your spirit.
You want nothing more than to
Feel oblivion forever.

Oh yeah, I've been there.

You believe life is dismal.
Nothing is fair or right
And you could leave it all in a heartbeat.

The world is a haze of faded blurry people.
Nothing matters, it might not even be real.
Let it all pass gently by.

Friends and family fear for you.
The weight of their seeming pity is crushing.
You want to be alone.

No one can know how you feel.
It won't ever get better.
They'll get over the pain.
It's better this way.
I wonder if anyone will show up.
Will I have flowers?

Oh, yeah, I've been there.

Failing is the first step.
The road ahead is full of trials.
Some of them seem impossible.
Others are only little things.

You have to choose.
Recovering is the hardest thing you'll ever do,
But it is possible.

In the end it's up to you.
Good luck, Amy.

Author notes

I was suicidal for several years of my life.  Depression runs in my family, and if it wasn't for my willpower and the love of my family and friends I wouldn't be here today.  I'm getting married next year.  Things get better, you just have to give yourself a nudge in the right direction.

If it's anything like what happened to me, she's going to get an overabundance of the same kind of cheery fluff from a lot of people. Sometimes that tends to make things worse. Hopefully some honesty will help.

this is very good, its to the point and not treating her as though she;s fragile. Ilike this a lot thankyou very much
