The Shadowdancer

What we hear is not the silence, it is the annihilation;
in the sidewalk, only shadows are preserved to eternity,
I wear the wings dark like the charcoal after my own immolation.

Dry waves beat like a bleak heart with lifeless pulsation;
engraved in the enduring walls the last art of modernity…
What we hear is not the silence, it is the annihilation.

Splitting the infinite nullity to his destruction;
the notices of death howls swiftly the wind of serenity,
I wear the wings dark like the charcoal after my own immolation

Distant cries of victory are the only satisfaction;
the edge of the sword lay forsaken by the angel of calamity;
What we hear is not the silence, it is the annihilation.

Unseen vindicator claimed his share of desolation,
we died a thousand times afterwards despite the proximity;
I wear the wings dark like the charcoal after my own immolation

An entire nation is a wax museum of lively recollection;
I am the sculptor of tombstones and shadowy reality;
What we hear is not the silence, it is the annihilation,
I wear the wings dark like the charcoal after my own immolation…

    Thanks, and sure. I am talking about Hiroshina and Nagasaki and what I do, which is keeping their memories (hence writing)

    Very deep and filled with emotion!!!

    Joao, Very deep and dark write filled with much emotion. Your excellent verbiage brought forth vivid imagery. Not a place that I would want to be, I prefer a sunny day. This was very well written and the rhyme words you chose were superb.
    A very good choice for the background also. Best wishes in the contest with this excellent work. You definitely have my applause here. Love and blessings for you, today and always. Joyce
