Sunrise to Sunset

Sunrise
You’re the first thing on my mind
What do I wear,
To get you to notice me today?
I get to school- just to watch you from afar

Morning
Look away each time our eyes meet
Pretend I don’t see you,
Pretend I don’t care
Spend the day thinking of you
Big surprise there
And even though I know your taken
I wonder if I’ve crossed your mind at all…

Afternoon
Skip lunch again so I won’t have to face you
Won’t have to see you not notice me
Do you even care when I’m gone?

Day’s over
Meet up with my friends
They tell me all about you
And I laugh and smile
But inside it hurts
They don’t like you like I do
Yet they spend more time with you
If only I could get over my foolish fear
And get up the nerve to simply smile at you

I’m home
Sign online
Stare at your name and check your profile a couple times
Even though I know it hasn’t changed,
I’m still waiting for the message that won’t come

Dinner
Parents are home
Talk about my day
Talk about you
They just roll their eyes
And keep inside the truth we all know
That I don’t mean a thing to you

Sunset
Time for me to sleep again
But before I do
I have to look up at the sky,
Find my lucky star
And waste another wish on you.
