Keldon vs. Dracula, Chapter I

Keldon sat back in his chair, yawning loudly. He was now very bored and it was only four-fifteen in the afternoon. There wasn’t a whole lot left to achieve now that the all of the Jedi were destroyed.

Well, not all of the Jedi, Keldon thought, remembering that Curtis and Rachel were Senators now. He spared them because of how deep their friendships had run before his turn to the Dark Side. Back when I was still… good. That seemed like such a long time ago, when in reality it had only been three years.

Keldon had managed to destroy every single Jedi, including all of the Sith Masters, in less than six months. It was all part of his plan to be the only living Jedi left, but he decided to keep Curtis and Rachel alive because, deep in his blackened heart, he loved them.

His life had been become easier since the death of Zaine. He was most likely the best thing to ever happen to the galaxy, even though he was still evil. He made one entire set of laws that were in effect all sections of the galaxy, but each star system could make up there own set as well.

Keldon had also reworked the money system. There was the standard credit system, but every planet was allowed its own set of currency if it so chose.

As Keldon rested, he felt something unusual coming from the ground level of the Sith Palace. A few moments later, Curtis’s voice could be heard through the loudspeaker. “Uh, Alex, it would be nice if you could come down here. You have a message.”

“Just send it up here,” Keldon muttered. After another moment of silence, a static-filled message filled the office.

“Keldon… I wish… meet you… Trans…” A loud burst of static and then silence.

“Well, someone wants to meet me in Transylvania,” Keldon said through the intercom.

“How do you know Transylvania?” Curtis asked, very puzzled.

“Could you not hear that accent? It was definitely Romania. Get the Leviathan prepped for me, I’m taking a vacation.”

Keldon arrived in Transylvania forty minutes later, taking a very bizarre shortcut through space. Ordinarily, going from San Francisco to Europe took at least four hours, but simply going around the planet was a lot faster.

He had both of his lightsabers attached to his belt, waiting for the unexpected. When he had touched down, he had seen the very prominent Castle Dracula in the distance. It looked rather oppressive and huge compare to the very old buildings.

As he stepped out of the Leviathan, a friendly old man who had a very thick Romanian accent greeted him. Keldon also felt a slight pulse in the Force coming from the castle.

Keldon paid the docking fee and immediately began to walk to the Castle Dracula. “What are you doing, sir?” the old man asked, his lower lip trembling.

“A little sight-seeing.” Keldon kept walking to the castle, knowing it was probably best to go there in daylight. Even though it was supposed to be abandoned, it still scared him.

He arrived at the large gates about ten minutes later after using the Force to quicken his pace. He gently pushed his hand against the ancient wood and surprisingly, it moved forward easily.

Keldon didn’t like that one bit and without delay pulled out his lightsaber, keeping it off for the time being. He moved quickly into a large courtyard and headed for the nearest door. He pulled it open and slammed it down hard, almost too hard. The door shook on its hinges as he pushed it closed.

It was also pitch black inside this room, but it didn’t bother Keldon; the Dark Side could let him see in the blackness perfectly. He thumbed the power switch to his lightsaber and held it at his side.

He had only taken a few steps into the room when a man threw himself at Keldon. The man knocked Keldon’s lightsaber out of his hand and put his hands on his face. Keldon thought he saw fangs in the man’s mouth but grappled him off too soon.

The man hit the wall heavily as Keldon brushed himself off and began to walk to his lightsaber. He had started to reach for it when the man flew at him again, not even fazed by the strike on the wall. He landed on Keldon’s back, who immediately began to grapple again with the man.

Keldon unhooked him from his back and threw him into the air, whipping up both of his hands. Lightning flew from his fingers and enveloped the man, the screams of pain almost inhuman. Keldon let go of the current and waited for the man to return to his feet.

The man stood up slowly, his body smoking from the heat. He turned slowly to face Keldon and opened his mouth, revealing what Keldon had feared.

There were just two fangs in his mouth, but each had a menacing feel to them.

“You seem shocked to see what I am,” the man said with a low cackle.

“Actually, I’m amazed that you showed me that. It means your pretty stupid.” Even as Keldon finished saying it, he rippled the Force and threw the door open, bright sunlight filling the room. The man screamed for a split-second as the light engulfed him, his body incinerating to dust.

“I don’t believe it,” Keldon muttered, shaking his head. “Vampires. I always thought that they were fake, but looks like I was wrong.”

Keldon scooped up his lightsaber but as he straightened up, some of the moss on the walls began to move. He had no time to react as the moss flew onto him, pinning him to the wall. His other lightsaber unhooked from his belt and rolled into a spreading darkness that Keldon could not see through.

Keldon watched it revolve into the darkness that enveloped a stairwell that led down. After a few agonizing seconds of silence, there was a snap-hiss and the red bar of the lightsaber could be seen clearly in the darkness. It waved in the air a few times then retracted. Then someone with a Romanian accent began to speak.

“I’ve been looking for a lightsaber that had very good construction to it. It pleases me to have finally met you, Darth Keldon.” A tall, thin man stepped out of the shadows wearing clothes that were similar to the robes of a Sith Knight.

“Who are you?” Keldon asked this even though he already knew the answer to his question.

“Forgive my manners. I am Dracula.”
