Egg-Noggy Christmas Bells

Missing image

Sung to the tune of "Snoopy vs. the Red Baron" by the Royal Guardsmen (1966)

listen to a sample of the real song, so you can get a feel for the chorus...

Oh, Snoopy was wise
he had a great plan-
he’d take the Red Baron shopping
at Christmas land,
they’d shop until dawn
and it would come to pass
his old nemesis
would have debts up his @$$!

Christmas bells!
Oh Christmas bells!
ringing through the land!
Selling quarts of eggy nog
like no season can!

Snoopy went home
in complete victory,
hugged his beagle wife

set up his lil' Christmas tree;
such an egg-noggy end

to this adventurous tale-
until he received
his bills in the mail!

Christmas bells!
Oh Christmas bells!
ringing through the land!
Bringing lots of noggy cheer
like no season can!

What a sad day. Snoopy finally realizes his arch nemesis is himself! The only thing that I didn't think fit within this write was the part about his beagle wife. To me, that detracted from the Peanuts image of Snoopy. But other than that, I enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing, and Merry Christmas!

I used to be a big fan of Snoopy until I saw an excerpt from a dreadful West End musical about him. However you can't beat "Snoopy and the Red Baron" as the world's greatest song.

Thanks, G, you reminded me that I can drop the adult, as I did have that in mind when creating it, it fell far short, and now I even masked the one 'bad word' in there...!

Eggnog is still a drink overhere. It is a mix of egg yolks and brandy. It's called a drink, but it cannot be sipped out of a glass, it has to be taken out with a little spoon, because it is too thick for drinking. Many Dutch ladies love it. Especially with some whipped cream on top of it. Yummy. It contains 14% alcohol. Not bad eh? Would you like to try some? lol. Anna.

Eggnog is related to various milk and wine punches that had been concocted long ago in the "Old World". Our first President, George Washington, devised his own recipe that included rye whiskey, rum and sherry. It was reputed to be a stiff drink that only the most courageous were willing to try. Now just the milky part is sold in the dairy section and the alcohol must be supplied by the customer! Good with nutmeg... very thick, I can't drink it straight up!

Being British, we don't get the seasonal delicacy that is egg-nog. What the hell is it? Is it as disgusting as it sounds?
