Missing image

crumbs of bread

DId you take this picture outside your window? Nice to see the birds making use of the feeders in the yards. I enjoy watching them too - liked this - goes great with the picture as well. Nice to see the birds flock to the place where they can find lots of food.

lovely ! ... great pivot line and the season (for you) ... heh ... snow here would be jun/july ... makes kigo and such rules so interesting (either we 'know' the poet and where they live and their time, or we relate the poem to where we live and our time) ... anyway, great tanka ! >>> GINA

    loved it

I have never seen a tanka before, it looks an interesting form...you have written it so gorgeously and I love the picture...it looks like you get the sparrows as we do but we don't have anything bright coloured like the beautiful red bird in your pic, that must be a wonderful sight to see especially against a white snowy background...~Lilac~

This is a the scene around my house quite often. I never toss bread, dry cereal, pop corn and the like anywhere but out in the yard for the birds. Its a part of the season, and a part of the whole year round. Loved it.

I love feeding the birds and once they know you have the bird feeders filled, they never leave! even when curious cat eyes are watching from the other side of plate glass sliding doors!

I'm not familiar with specifics of poem forms, but you did beautifully well in this write and the image is all of the poem! glad I had the chance to read this!

That is all it takes sometimes, a connection with another living thing. The tanka is great! I love the photo too, with the bright red cardinal in the middle.

    A lovely tanka

This is almost what I see when I look out my back door to see the birds feeding. I enjoyed this tanka and now I am beginning to understand this one.

    Cute

That is cool, it's sort of like a haiku without the syllable thing. It's short and sweet and beautiful. I absolutely love it! The picture is cute and it's well presented (the colors are nice) it's such a cute poem

In the simple, life finds a way to show its brilliance, in this poem my heart is lifted within the gentle flutter of wings, watched over by the One who cares for all. It is when i see these wonders of your heart that i am most moved to tears. When life seems it will overflow its banks, causing overwhelming destruction, you always seem to show this tender side of your creativity. Watching you reach across the barrenness and cold to cast a crumb or two, i find a feast and sing with gratitude. Blessings and best wishes, ~richard
