Poem 1: Witch craft by vic
Your garden,
Madame Sosostris,
Its herbs and flowers
Its abundant fruit
And plump asparagus,
Courgettes
and fragrant, sweet
sweet peas?
The secret, child,
Is in the planting
The sacred act at midnight
Of burying the seeds
To bring forth life
From the blood of fish and bone meal
Planted with enchantement
In the light of the waxing moon
Poem 2: Pack by Heli
Fido bone,
Dog prowl.
Bona fide,
Moon Howl

You are a very well read person Vic, and I bow to your superior
knowledge. The Poem is excellent as are all your writes. -
A mock Egyptian name (suggested to Eliot by "Sesostris, the Sorceress of Ecbatana," the name assumed by a character in Aldous Huxley's novel Crome Yellow who dresses up as a gypsy to tell fortunes at a fair). (NA)
