you would probably never know,
but you need me most of all to stay true
There'd be no worry for you to go through;
you'd unknowingly watch your child grow
if I could go on without telling you
The child would be fatherless as he grew
and life might have a peaceful flow,
but you need me most of all to stay true
You'd still be there to care, but if you knew
you'd be angry and full of sorrow
If I could go on without telling you
I'd be there the day he finally flew
and you wouldn't know you should go
but you need me most of all to stay true
And truthfully, I want you to know too,
but there'd be no change you'd undergo
if I could go on without telling you...
But you need me most of all to stay true
Author notes
Sooo...this is based on Mauve's thoughts on whether she should tell Diente she's pregnant or not. Notice I keep referring to the baby as 'he'...WELL...not to say that it is definitely a boy...I just didn't want to use 'it' the entire way through. Enjoy my not so bad villanelle.
What I'm doing in this poem? I am creating the emotion a girl would feel while being pregnant with her brother's child. That's all there really is to it.

Yes...That and this is about fantasy characters.
Thank you for your comment.

Sounds like a situation all right. Fortunately, this is the 21st Century, and things like that aren't any big deal nowadays.

Thank you for your very kind words. I wish you the best of luck in judging your contest.

Excellent
You created that emotion excellently. Great poem and I am deeply impressed by the amount of raw talent that this entire contest has provided. I do believe this to be a poem worth trying to get published. It's a great piece and i am glad that it was entered into my contest. Good job. -
But Mauve planned to...sleep with another guy? *blink* I dunno. Lmfao. All I know is that she doesn't want him to know 'cause she doesn't wanna ruin his happiness or something. And YES...I DO like it, so no worries!

I just got a REALLY weird thought about all of this. How could Diente NOT know it was his kid? ~Blink.~ Mauve is a lesbian after all, and he is the only [ As far as I know ] male she sleeps with.. e e; Eheheh.. Yeah.
BUTTTT.. That's not why I came to look at this. Oh, no, no, no, no, nooooo.. I came, to say that this is pretty, and you had BETTER like it, 'cause I do.
And.. Yeah. ~Wink, wink.~

Poor Mauve...in the way that she'll have to tell Diente. Otherwise, I congratulate her on the child, I suppose. I like this...better than not so bad status. XP
-
Oh, don't worry...He'll eventually find out. Thank you for your comment.

I really like this Rose! It's a great villanelle. You write them so well, better than you think you do. And poor Mauve! I HOPE Diente finds out whatever the situation. But hey, that's me. Wonderful write twinny.
